The system consists of two PLC’s for two Laddle Furnaces (LF), two PLC’s for Electrode Regulation and a PLC for Utilities ( common section ).

The electrode regulation PLCs are supplied by Danielli.

The LF PLC handles the following–

• Feeding ferro alloys & wire in the furnace at time of heat, which maintains the quality of steel.
• Movement of laddle car.
• Controlling hydraulics , compressor , water treatment & distribution.
• Controlling HT circuit for Trafo.
• Automatic tap changing for Trafo which is feeding electrode.
• Inert Gas purging at Laddle, etc.

The Utility PLC (common section) handles –

• Controlling Fume Extraction System (FES), which contains bag filter, RAL feeder and ID fans.
• Controlling of Booster Pump. Etc

The scope of work included:

1. Design and supply of control systems/ cabinets.
2. Software development
3. Commissioning and performance trials.
