· The project involved software development and site commissioning of S7-400FH system for Burner Management System that was supplied by Coen Bharat Ltd. and installed at 388.5 MW Vemagiri Power Plant, Rajmundri, Andhra Pradesh.
1 The burner management system was for controlling the operation (establishment) of three main gas burners. All main burners have one pilot burner associated with it. The Flames of main and pilot burners were acknowledged with the help of flame scanners placed near the burners.
2 There were three modes of operation possible: BMS / DCS / LOCAL.
3 The PLC CPU time was synchronized with the master DCS clock with the help of time synchronizing module (make: -Siemens), SICLOCK TS. In this case, PLC CPU was configured as ‘Slave’. The SICLOCK module firstly synchronized with the time frame (signal) from DCS system. Then this signal was extended up to PLC CPU through Communication Processor, CP443-1. There was a Point -to- Point connectivity established between DCS system and the BMS PLC with the help of Communication Processor, CP 341.
The scope of work included:
- Software development
- Commissioning
